Equine-Assisted Counselling
Discover a non- traditional approach to growth and connection through Equine Assisted Counselling for neurodivergent young people. While using horses as a therapeutic tool, individuals can explore emotions, develop communication skills, build self awareness and work through mental health challenges in a nature based, non judgemental, neuro-affirming and safe environment. Equine Assisted Counselling offers a hands-on opportunity to learn skills, interact with the herd and experience personal growth through ground work with the horses, there is no riding available.
Horses are herd and prey animals making them highly intuitive and emotionally sensitive to their surroundings and other horses in their herd. They use this as a survival tool, reacting to the emotions of other horses. Horses are also sensitive to human emotions and body language and will mirror your feelings and emotions back to you. For centuries, humans have been using horses for healing, building connection and personal growth through their calming and grounding nature.
